Panchachuli Women Weavers, the largest independent women’s cooperative in the north Indian state of Uttaranchal, has played a key role in changing the socio-economic dynamics of the local community. Women from over 32 villages in the hilly region of Almora are involved in the processing of raw materials and production of woven and knitted products.

NEW YORK, Jul 7 (OneWorld) - Increasing attempts by governments and corporations alike to decrease the share of taxes paid by multinational companies could lead to a crisis situation for public funding in many parts of the world, warns a new study released by one of the leading international trade union organizations.
