Brazil Justice Net

BRAZIL JUSTICE NET (known also in Portuguese as SEJUP--Servico Brasileiro de Justica e Paz) was founded in 1991 and specializes in preparing news and reports in English about Brazilian human rights and social issues. Among the issues we cover are land questions, indigenous issues, environment, the churches, women's issues, violence, racism, children, grassroots movements.

27/04/2006 Last month, on International Women's Day (March 8), nearly 2,000 rural women workers marched to the Aracruz Celulose greenhouse in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and destroyed thousands of eucalyptus seedlings and the accompanying research (...) Why did the women destroy the Aracruz seedlings? The women issued the following press release explaining their actions.
